		<description>VGA is capable of up to 2048x1536 resolution, so yes VGA can do 1920x1080.

While most HDTVs that are VGA-equipped do allow you to go the full native resolution of the TV, I have seen some HDTVs that limit the resolution you can do with VGA.

But if VGA is all your laptop has got, then that is what you must use.  So give it a go and see what happens.
