Its a syncmaster 240hd and on the menu you can choose the DTV screen. I don’t know what we need to pick up the channels though. Is it a card or what? Excuse my ignorance im not too tech savvy. Ive connected a wire from my sky box and it picks up the channels on the normal screen, just wondered how to pick up DTV.

As I understand it, the regular Sky box is not really good with HDTVs. You want the Sky+HD box, which has an HDMI output that you can connect directly to your Syncmaster 240HD’s HDMI port.
(the regular Sky box can’t do HD anyway.)
