how do i turn my LCD monitor into TV that receives HD channels from the air?

i need a separate HD tuner?
also, is it possible to turn it into a TV without using the computer or does it have to be through the computer?

Bert H March 18, 2010 at 11:06 am: You need a special (receiver) card and insert into a computer slot inside your computer to receive a signal (from a satellite) to pick-up the signal.

This signal is supplied to you through a subscription to the supplier. You can then watch TV shows on your computer monitor.

If you wish, you can hook up the TV to the computer by a special cable (TV to card).

The receiving card is activated by the supplier and you can subscribe to “package deals”.

2. Without the computer, you can buy a tuner box-but you may have to search for one with VGA out.
